Paris
France History - In the beginning Paris was
conquered by Julius Caesar in 52 BC. Through the years
of 1355 - 58 the people of Paris first became independent
under Etienne Marcel. They worked well and prospered
under his leadership. For many years Paris was able
to hold onto its own.
Then came the year of 1789 and the storming of Bastille
and the French Revolution.
During World War I Germans were not
permitted in the city, but by World War II in the years
1940 to 1933 the Germans occupied the city. Again the
city struggled.
Again violence came to Paris with the Student
Riots in 1968. Again it repaired itself.
Paris today maintains its claim to
fame as the City of Light. Paris continues
to plan ahead and build for their success in the future.
Their economy continues to grow and they are well prepared
to tough out anything that stands in their way. They
are courageous and strong people in the land and they
will continue to push the are forward, appreciating
the past, never letting it repeat and moving to the
future with a strong purpose. Through all the ups and
downs it continued to pursue and push on. Its people
would see it no other way and today they are happy,
lively and willing to work hard to succeed.
So many people come to Paris every year. The numbers
are in the millions. They come for all different reasons.
Some for Sightseeing, Vacationing and
